Testudo's Tips!

  • Start researching internships as soon as you arrive to explore different career experiences.
  • The Career Center has hundreds of resources to help you find internships.
  • The more jobs you try, the quicker you'll learn what you like and don't like.

CHAPTER SUMMARY:

Any internship is helpful to get working experience and to make connections with other professionals. Don’t be afraid to try something new and step outside of your comfort zone  to explore other career options. The more you try, the more you'll learn about yourself. Read about other Maryland students in the workplace and how they overcame obstacles such as finding an internship, appropriate work attire, and sticking with an internship that one didn't like.
